INTRODUCTION

My wife and I established Lifestyle Canvas And Sails in August 2005. Since moving upto Waipapa, Kerikeri from Picton, we have been overwhelmed by the friendliness and encouragement we have received from the local community and businesses in Kerikeri.

Kate and I run Lifestyle Canvas And Sails from our home in Kerikeri. I am a qualified sail and canvas maker having undertaken my apprenticeship with Hoods Sailmakers in Auckland. Since qualifying I have worked for high profile sail and canvas companies in England, Spain, Auckland, Picton and Opua. In addition to running the administration for Lifestyle Canvas And Sails, Kate works part time for a local child care centre as their administrator and accounts clerk.

We are both enthusiastic sailors and love being out on the water. Whilst overseas I took the opportunity to crew on a 90ft racing yacht Bristolian, joining them for a complete refit and a season cruising in the Mediterranean and the Adriatic. In addition, Kate & I ran a 57ft yacht, Onghiara, cruising the Mediterranean and the Adriatic. I have always been very involved in local yacht racing and am proud to sail with Northern Rebel out of the Kerikeri Cruising Club.

We both love living up in the Bay of Islands and take every opportunity to go cruising on our 26ft yacht ‘Aquila’, along with our Labrador Forest. Hopefully we will catch up with some of you on the water.

At Lifestyle Canvas And Sails we provide a wide range of canvas goods from shade sails, all boat covers, house and shop awnings, clear drop curtains, fertiliser covers, caravan awnings, orchard canvas goods, UTE covers plus many more applications. In addition we can help you with your sail repairs and recuts. All our covers are manufactured to suit your precise requirements, using high quality materials which come in a wide range of colours.
